Black Friday $160 GPU

louis21ong

Hey guys! I'm trying to find a proper GPU for my rig in the early black friday sales. Here are some of my options :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127898

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121963

Personally I would want the GTX 960 because of its 4gb of VRAM. But the 380 is also alright.

Any other suggestions from newegg is very much appreciated!

I like your 960 option myself, if that is what your looking for price range. It has a better clock speed and should be a fantastic card!

But the 380 has only 2gb of VRAM. Could justify your choice a little bit more?  :D

I suggest GTX 960, specially pick between Asus or Msi, for better cooling. And why Nvidia, they update their drivers like all the time and with significant improvement :)

Intel Core i5 - 6400 <> Msi B150A Gaming Pro <> Msi Gtx 970 Gaming <> G.Skill Ripjaw 4 16Gb DDR4 2400mhz

<> Corsair CX500M <> 160 & 250 Seagate HDD <> Aerocool Strike X (Casing) <>

Can you find a 4GB 380 for the same price elsewhere?

Intel Core i7-6700K | Corsair H105 | Asus Z170I PRO GAMING | G.Skill TridentZ Series 16GB | 950 PRO 512GB M.2

Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB STRIX OC | BitFenix Prodigy (Black/Red) | XFX PRO Black Edition 850W

The 960 series has a smaller, 128bit interface width. You aren't going to even be using 4 gbs of vram with it. Not to mention, even with the 2 less gbs, the 380 is still more powerful as long as you aren't going above 1080p, because then you'll cap it's max.

You know, AMD cards aren't actually that hot. (The ref. 290 being one of the exceptions.)

both are nice, but check out the EVGA SSC 960 as well ... see how that stacks up

+1 R9 380 for life!

Costs the same after rebate.

I would go for the 380 4GB. It has more grunt for the money than the 960 (8-10% performance).

Looks like the powercolor card (which is getting good reviews) is just 10$ more than the 2GB versions.

However, do you plan on overclocking?
