New Year Build - Gaming PC/ Vid Editing/ Photoshop etc...

Normandy-07

Hey everyone.

This is my very first post here woot !

So I am planning to build a serious gaming pc after new year and I can't wait !

I have a little experience with upgrading my current system, but I have never actually built a complete system, but I doubt i'd be that hard.

Now I just wanna hear what you guys think of my list of parts that I have put together.

Here is the list : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RmRp6h (note that for case I'm prob gonna go with a NZXT H440 just couldn't find it on partpicker)

I Plan to order the parts after new year !

Let me know what you guys think, and if you have any advice. Keep in mind this is gonna be my first real build =0 !

What is your CPU? I doubt its 5820K. Honestly, you don't need 32GB for gaming. 1200W is overkill, go with 850W.

Since he is going to be gaming, the 6700k would be better.

6 cores is better for video editing and more than enough for gaming.

No it wouldn't. The 5820k is a much more powerful cpu than the 6700k especially for the money. 5820k is $300 at Microcenter vs. $360 for the 6700k.

Current PC: Origin Millennium- i7 5820K @4.0GHz | GTX 980Ti SLI | X99 Deluxe

The problem is, you have several incompatible parts in your list.

Please take detailed advice before buying anything, or you're going to have issues.

7800X3D - MSI B650 MAG Tomahawk - 32GB 6000mhz CL30 - Gigabyte 3080 TI - 2TB NVME - 1000w PSU - ID Cooling 240mm AIO

I'm still a while from buying, and yes I might have put this list together, not knowing everything abt ''building a pc'', would you mind telling me what is incompatible, so I can make changes and maybe learn what I'm doing wrong.

What red will you be gaming on? If you're doing 4K go with two fury X instead of two 980 ti. At 4K they actually perform better.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Could you not wait ti'll Q2 2016 cus Skylake-E?

Skylake e is q3 not q2... Sort of a long wait. Broadwell e is coming in q1 though so that could be considered.

Oh it's q2. That sure is late. I wonder if anyone will buy any of those CPUs since skylake would be coming next quarter... Of course there will be those people upgrading from Haswell e.
