Build Parts Opinion

Jordaneer

I'm looking to build a computer for mostly for content creation and maybe some gaming, probably like dirt showdown or dirt revolution though, but I don't have a gigantic budget, I have an FX-6300 black edition processor (don't give me AMD hate), what are your guy's opinions on my parts list

I'm looking at a budget of around $450 USD because I already have the processor. I'm probably going to run just one monitor but would like the option to run 2 for content creation, but if I game, it will most likely be just 1 monitor.

Case (Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-03)

RAM (Kingston 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM)

HDD (WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM)

SSD (SanDisk SSD PLUS 2.5" 120GB)

and Graphics Card (ASUS GeForce GTX 960 STRIX)

The PSU was chosen because its currently on sale for $30 with a rebate at Newegg and it was rated more than powerful enough

The Mobo was chosen because it has 2 PCIe 2.0x16 slots

The case was a good deal and I liked the look of it, plus it has front USB 3

The Ram was chosen so I could potentially upgrade it to 16 GB in the Future

The HDD seemed like a good deal, plus I've had good luck with Western Digital

The SSD is supposed to be a boot SSD with a few applications on it

The gtx 960 seemed like a good balance between performance and cost to me

What are your guy's opinions, and what could I potentially change

This seems fine to me, but I would get a better SSD. (at least 250GB and from another retailer like Adata)

CX series PSU' s are not recommended at all. Switch it out for a SeaSonic or XFX one instead.

Also, get a R9-380 in place of that 960. It will offer roughly 5-15% more performance in most, if not all, games.
