Hey Luke!

Tip: Next time when you try to adjust the orientation, use the 2 polarizers on top of eachother, rotate until they don't let light through, turn the new one by 90 degrees, and there you go.

I wonder though, how annoying those glasses may be for people who move their head.

I saw a guide on how to do this on 4chan almost 10 years ago! At the time I wondered if it was legit or somebody trying to make me ruin my monitor.

Also don't throw the monitor away, take it apart and use the backlight as a studio light. Just pull the lcd off and apply a constant voltage to the backlight and you've got a very bright (and very neutral white unless it's a REALLY crappy monitor) light panel for super cheap. You can even get broken screens for free and most of the time the backlight still works.

Add a potentiometer into the mix and you can alter the brightness, find a monitor with a vesa mount and you could mount it to a tripod... It would be a cool project.

This seems like something incredibly pointless. If something was really that private, you wouldn't be doing it in front of people; glasses or not.

Cool video nonetheless! :D

Video was alright, too bad it feels kind of half.. I understand you guys make daily videos, but it was a real shame that the monitors didn't even work at the end

@Slick I can't believe at the beginning of this video you said "LCD or LED monitor"

LCD monitors with a fluorescent tube backlight were advertised as LCD Monitors. Modern monitors that have an LED backlight are advertised as LED monitors. He said both because this will work on either.

Or for a balance between the two, why not use 3M privacy film (or similar)? Less effort, if slightly more expensive.

Um, what? A polarizing filter only polarizes light. UV radiation will still get through, it will just be polarised

i meant uv protection film on the polarization filter so removing it would expose you to uv radiation
