Thoughts on the Acer XB240H G-Sync?

Samfisher

Extremely tempted to get the above monitor, purely for gaming.  I have a bog standard Dell Ultrasharp U2312H IPS currently, and that will be my movie/secondary monitor with the Acer for gaming.  I run with a GTX 970 (OC'd to 980 performance) and I am a huge 60fps Nazi.  I turn things down till I get 60fps everywhere and I spend hours tweaking everything to get as much eye candy as I can while maintaining 60fps all the time.

I don't want to go up to 1440p cos that will be an unpleasant experience with everything set at max, that's a 78% increase in pixels over the 1080p.  So I'm thinking with the XB240H being a 1080p 144Hz screen, I can enjoy G-Sync, as well as high refresh rates all with the same performance "feel" of a regular 1080p while still able to turn stuff on that I turned off to maintain 60fps.

Thoughts and concerns?

Cos I already have an IPS, but an IPS with G-sync and 1080p and 144Hz either doesn't exist or costs too much.

thats my problem too :D   that gsync and ips combined in 1 display -> wallet killer

maybe blackfriday/cyber... drops some of the >700$ ips gsyncs                        or massdrop would be nice too

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as Black Friday sales where I'm from.. And shipping from newegg/amazon will cost almost twice the monitor price lol.

Well I guess I needn't worry about getting this monitor... It doesn't exist in Asia AFAIK... Thanks Acer for naming two DIFFERENT models the same damn thing, XB240H... One has G-Sync and another does not, but both share the same outward model number... Internally at Acer the G-Sync one is called XB240H A.... Thanks -_-
