can i change my laptop cpu and gpu?

hello all i have a asus laptop R501J .it use intel i7 4700HQ and nvidia GTX 760m .can i change to i7 5960K and gpu change to GTX 980m?

No, most laptops won't even let you change those parts, not that the ones listed are compatible

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

It's very likely that your CPU and GPU are soldered to mainboard. So no.

4700HQ is soldered. GTX 760M is soldered. 5960X is desktop.

With some laptops you can, though with yours, you might be able to upgrade the i7 to one of the same chipset and socket, but other than that, I'd guess you're out of luck.

 

And you can't just throw a desktop cpu into a laptop..

Didn't know that he was sager, last I checked, he didn't manufacture laptops.

 

I was speaking to him, saying that HE cannot just go and throw a desktop CPU into any laptop.

I know, it was just perfect for that though with all the recent laptops that have come out with desktop harware
