Keyboard typing random letters? what is happening?

Go to solution Solved by Sharess,

ok i reinstalled the Viber desktop client, and it fixed it, for now at least

but thx for the ctrl shift tip! will try it next time if it happens again

Hi everyone!

i encountered a problem with my CM Storm Quickfire Ultimate. Sometimes my keyboard freaks out and starts typing random letters, like i am trying to type on the regular alphabet and suddenly the output is various symbols, from the German language or random symbols like 1/2 , 1/4 or the copyright symbol or whatever it chooses to type. It goes away after a reboot but i still am curious what is happening? if its just something i pressed unconsciously or what.

anybody had the same type of problem?

Seeing as how the letters are particularly unusual, it may not be this, but the most common cause is accidentally changing the layout/language by hitting "control + shift".  Yes, just "control + shift", and no other key.  Yes, it's strange, but that cycles through all of the options you have set up (even if you never picked any, it's possible more than 1 was in the list by default)

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

update: actually, that's a related but different thing to what I'm talking about.  Didn't know that one ;)

But I've always used control, and when others start randomly typing French letters mysteriously, it's always control that fixes it.
