WiFi Card issues, please help

Alright so here's the problem: I got an ASUS WiFi card model PCE-AC56. When I plugged it into my motherboard's only accessible PCIe slot, the light on the card light up like it was successfully plugged in. I turned on my computer, downloaded the utilities and drivers that came on a disk with the card, and attempted to finish set up, but the utilities would not recognize the presence of the card. I turned the computer off and on again, took out the card, all the generic hoopla. I then checked the device manager at the bios and it did not recognize the card either. Is this a problem with the card or with the motherboard? And if one or the other, is there anything I can do? I should mention that I can't just plug it into another PCIe slot becuase the only other one on the motherboard is partially covered up by my graphics card. Thank you for any help you can give. I should also mention I'm not too terribly tech savvy so answers like I'm five might be preferable.

its possible that the problem could be a damaged pci slot. have you tried removing and reinserting the wifi card?

Well first off you will probably want to remove the drivers and utilities that came with the card. I have only had issues with downloading drivers and utilities from a CD.

That being said, go to ASUS website and download JUST THE DRIVER from there. That should help you.

As for not seeing it in the BIOS, you might not. You may want to pick up a BIOS update from your motherboard manufacturer while your doing downloads to see if there is an upgrade for it as well.
