Is Jaybird X2 worth $130?

RedRound2

So the Jaybird X2 is on sale for $130 on amazon

Is it worth the price? I see so many $20-$30 earphones with a lot of positive reviews and then I see jaybird and I feel like they're asking too much

What do you guys think?

Does anyone here have a jaybird X2

I was going to get the X2's about a month back but ended up deciding to go for the far cheaper Plantronics BackBeat Go2's, and they sound pretty good albeit with a lackluster four hour battery life (vs. the claimed eight~ of the X2s). But at almost three times the price (normally), I don't really think they're worthwhile. (BackBeat Go2's can be had for $50 regularly, $30 if you wait for a good sale)

I don't know anything about them but I don't think they are worth it. you are paying $130 for "comfortable, wireless" ear phones, the device you are using them on will most likely be close to you so why not cut the price and get some good wired ear phones.

The main reason I thought i'll go for wireless is just simply because it doesn't have wires. I don't need to run my wires each time through my shirt.

But then again I'm open to suggestion, so do you have any recommendations for good wired earphones

no not really but if you want wired headphones buy them with a rectangular wire (if you know what I mean) so they wouldn't get tangled

the one time I walked into big lots, I found them for 20$ and got them.

I have the original X's which the X2's are nearly identical but they throw in sets of Comply Foam Tips, which I had bought extra.

It kind of depends on your use whether they are worth the money. Are you looking for headphones just to wear around and listen to music? Probably not worth it, they have okay sound quality, but their bluetooth so that kind of limits them, you'd be better getting something wired really, or spend less on something else wireless that will likely have about the same quality.

If you are looking to primarily use them as workout headphones, they are totally worth it. With the foam timps and the little wing that sits in your ear, they have a snug fit so they don't ever fall out even during long runs. I rollerblade a lot and with all the twisting and stuff that goes on with that, this was the first set of earbuds that I could get to stay in my ears for more than about 10 minutes, they just don't ever fall out. Plus they come with liquipel applied to them so they are practically water proof, so you won't kill them with sweat, which I've done to a few cheaper pairs.

If you have any specific questions, let me know and I'll answer them for you. I've had my X's for about a year now.

What do you think about getting JayBird Bluebuds X for $80 ($95 with shipping). Do you enjoy yours? Also does it protrude out of your ear so much that it makes oneself look weird?

$80 is an awesome price on them. The only thing they really changed between the X and X2's are the X2's have more color options available and they come with Comply foam tips in the box (there are other minor differences, but nothing really noteworthy). You can easily pick up the foam tips separately if you want them, I highly recommend the foam tips. At least for me, and many others I know, the foam tips are much more comfortable and tend to hold in your ear better.

As for enjoying mine, I definitely do. I payed like $115 or $120 for mine a while ago and have been absolutely happy with the purchase. I primarily use them for exercise and not serious music listening though. If you want audiophile grade sound don't look at bluetooth headphones. But I regularly weight lift, rollerblade, and run with them in and have never had a problem with them falling out. In fact when I rollerblade, I pull the tips out of my ear canal so they are just kind of sitting freely in my ear, and I've still never had them come out (I do this so I can hear traffic better).

As far as protruding goes, they barely protrude any more than what a cheap pair of ear-buds would. And honestly they don't protrude anymore than what other high-end ear buds do, at least the ones I've used before. I have semi-long hair for a guy (like suit-and-tie days of The Beatles) and my hair completely covers them. Most people don't even realize I have headphones in. I have friends try to talk to me in the gym all the time and they never realize I have them in.
