Looking for a quality, quiet CPU cooler

DimitriBrut

Like the title says, I'm looking for a good (and quiet) CPU cooler. Something that'll fit on my Asus Z87 Sabertooth and my 4771. Price isn't really a huge deal, but I'd like something that's either black, white, chrome, or a combination of the bunch. I have mad respect for Noctua, but their fans are ugly as sin. Thanks in advance guys!

be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3

This was one of the first ones I was considering, but after Luke's review, I'm hesitant. Something about it being difficult to mount.

NH-D14 from Noctua and LTT special edition fans

Hah, I would, but the orange would clash with my black/white theme.

Cryorig R1 Universal.

I will definitely look into it!

Thanks for the responses guys.

Where are you shopping/located?

Cryorig R1 Universal.

These are all overkill considering the cpu's multiplier is locked.

Amazon and Newegg mostly. I'm in the US. Overkill is fine... leaves me room to upgrade the chip later on.

Unless you sell the current cpu for a considerable amount or get a good deal on a 4790k, an upgrade on the same platform doesn't seem like a good value.

A Pure Rock: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/be-quiet-cpu-cooler-bk009

or Kotetsu is probably more than enough to cool a 4771 at minimal rpm's: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/scythe-cpu-cooler-scktt1000

That Pure Rock would certainly be easier to clean. Really appreciate the input!

Would it be worth it to upgrade to the 4790K? And if so.... what would you consider to be a good deal>? I'm currently seeing it around the 300 mark

If you can trade in your current cpu +$30-40, it would be a decent deal.
