post-3189-0-64766700-1377202250.jpg

Hey Guys,

So welcome to my build log for my PC and set up. This log will show my upgrade path to what will eventually be watercooled 2500k, SLI 760s. These plans may change, but that's what the build log is for :D Feel free to follow this topic and ask questions below :) Feedback is appreciated and awesome!

Up to date specs will always be in my signature :)

Here is the upgrade path that I have planned (obviously this is subject to change):

1). One MSI Gaming Edition 760 (Complete)

2). Mic scissor arm (ordered).

3). Update OS to windows 8 (Complete)

4). Fractal Design Arc XL and spray paint the mesh sections red (waiting on release).

5). New mic (thinking Audio Technica at2020).

6). Two more Asus VN247H-Ps.

7). Power supply upgrade and schmexy cable extensions :)

8) 2nd GTX 760.

9). WATERCOOLING TIME BABEH! :D

Here is my build in its form before the build log started:

Thank you all for tuning in. I hope you have a fraction of the excitement that I do for this build! :)

Setup Build Log Section Summary:

So here's what my setup looks like at the start of this build log:

post-3189-0-35132800-1377441285.jpg

Upgrades that can happen here are: New mic, two more Asus VN247H-Ps, new mouse mat and a mic scissor arm

post-3189-0-67071700-1377441397.jpg

This is my music making desk. The monitor on the right in the picture above shall be moved over to here when monitor upgrades happen. Other than that, I'm happy with this setup.

post-3189-0-14155600-1377441545.jpg

Got a close up of the PC and headphone rack here. Headphones wise, I think I'm all set. I'd like a DAC/Amp combo for my listening, but my audio interface will do for now. It's better than integrated audio anyway :P

post-3189-0-91167400-1377441684.jpg

This is how I've had to set my speakers up due to a lack of desk space. I have the turntable over to the left and the speakers are reversed to left is right and right is left so it makes sense when I'm facing my monitors. (this desk is behind where I usually sit)

Yeah, when I first built it, I had never seen anyone do that before. Now it's a bit too much effort to take the mobo out :P That shall be fixed when the fractal design arc xl is finally released... (get on with it fractal :P)

  • 2 weeks later...

So windows 8 arrived and is installed and working. So far I'm loving it. Very fast and awesome. I got start is back to make metro and charms go away :P It's now just a faster Windows 7. Only issues so far are that when you open a picture, it opens in a horrible fullscreen metro app thing, and the log in screen is terrible. Other than that, awesome buy :) Here's what it looks like on my desktop. Background courtesy of @KOtech

You can set the default picture viewer to the desktop one.

Activision still think there's gets "updated" every year, they might have eyes trouble. It's sad to see how stupid people can be to still buy a CoD game x)

So true. Essentially, people playing CoD now are playing a lightly modified CoD 4.

Old and new. The 7770 will go back in soon and sit there as an extra bit of folding power. I plan to leave my system folding all day while I'm at school :P

Doesn't that cost a ridiculous amount of money to do?
