Freeze and striped screens HELP!

Heigrenpwns

HI there!

I've got a bit of a problem on my hands.

I recently bought a new motherboard, graphics card, processor and ssd, aswell as more ram.

I've installed all of the things (with minor difficulty because of lack of experience)

I've booted the computer from the new ssd, installed the drivers for both the new motherboard and graphics card.

everything seemed to go smoothly until i launched a game, and that's where the trouble begins.

A few minutes into a game (or almost instantly) the screen freezes into a either grey. greenish, yellowish, bluish static screen with horizontal stripes. usually the sound also disappears or becomes a buzz, other times the sound/music/skype call stays.

I can't do anything at that point, and i'm therefore forced to manually turn the computer off.

now, I've tried to narrow the causes down; I've tried uninstalling my new graphics card along with its drivers, and put in my old one - which so far has worked without any problems. I switched back and the problems occur again.

I've also tried to take out my old ram, to see if that had an effect - no luck there.

Now i've been wondering if it's a monitor problem (it's about 10 years old) - since sometimes the screen does whatever (as described above) and the sound stays on, i've been skyping while the problem occured

these are my specs:

Motherboard: Asus Z97-p

Graphics card: Sapphire Nitro R7 370

Processor: Intel core i7-4790k

Psu: 750 W

any help is appreciated

Have you installed the latest drivers for your new GPU? If so, it seems that you got a lemon, gonna have to RMA it.
