TLDR - I'm building shit with no experience.

 

Hello everyone,

 

So, to sum up this project. I needed a desk, I needed a computer, and I was sick of my TV's built in audio solution. So I went looking around online to see what I can do in my living room since my fireplace makes things a bit difficult, like a large desk. Considering my home is only roughly 1,000 sqft. I found this picture.

 

 

 

 

When I saw this I knew I needed it to be in my house, so I made a build planning thread and got the help from @Goodman2265

So far he has been absolutely incredibly helpful in helping make the blueprints to fit my home. We discussed back and forth on measurements and how I want everything done, and he has given me these beautiful blue prints.

 

 

 

 

 

 

With all this said and done. Time for me to head to the local hardware store and get everything I need over the next few months! I plan to start ordering PC parts for my computer here in the next week or so and will be posting as I build that up, and then as well as post as I get things coming in through the door. I'm very excited to get this done. I think this is worth more to me than having the 3 grand PC I wanted. Haha, but that will come in the future for sure

 

Thanks everyone for spending the time to look at this thread and hopefully the project ends great because well, I'm not very handy LOL. Hopefully with these blueprints I can end up pulling some magical unicorn juice out my ass and pull this off! Wish me luck in this great adventure of mine.

Also a thanks to @JohnT for helping me with the selection of speakers and receiver for my TV, without his help on this I probably would be buying an audio solution that is no better than the built in! And a huge thanks to everyone here at LTT, the constant helpful information on computer tech and how to go about doing certain things. I love this community, though I think we should have a shitpost forum Personal opinion. Hell, I don't even use any social media's. I consider LTT and Steam my social media's. Lmao. Thanks everyone, please be a part of my build here and cheer me on because I don't have a single clue what I'm doing when it comes to building with wood!!!

I haven't ordered any of that yet, I'm currently about to build the computer considering I don't have one, then I will be building the shelves, then I will be buying the audio set up. It's going to be a long project, I can't fork up all this money at once. Lol

Not bad but personally I would grab some 1866MHz RAM and OC it if your board can run at 2133MHz!

Ehhhh. I do nothing to really need RAM lol. Only let the games use it. Speed isn't much use to me.

Faster RAM can help a bit to alot depends on the game, some games are really weird and will gain 50% more frames per second!

Not at these speeds honestly. You can get FPS differences going to like the 3000MHz in DDR4, by like 3 FPS.

Yeah, I stand corrected, like he said in the video. In the case that the CPU is the bottle neck, faster ram helps. Thanks for the great video

 

Though it would of helped me stand by your statement if they was all the same CPU and different RAM speeds..
