Bought this card (used, so no box pics unfortunately) to be used in my parents computer so I can play some games while visiting, decided to drop it into my main system and see what this little guy could do.

First had to take out my 2 r9 290s, this should give a good idea of just how small this gpu is. Sorry for the shoddy camera work, the HTC M8 isn't known for its good camera for a reason.

Now on to benchmarking. I didn't bother overclocking so everything is at stock which you will be able to see in the GPU-z screenshot below. The card ran surprisingly well, never going above 65 degrees Celsius. However, there was a massive issue of the 1GB VRAM cap being hit nearly instantly, and it took a few tries just to get Rocket League to start. Shadow of Morder refused to run. 

All games were run at 1080p.

Overall its a very well performing card for the price that I got it ($50), and I think it will do fine being in my parents computer.

Not half bad. My 750Ti runs Shadow of Mordor Medium settings 58FPS Minmum 63AVG

H1Z1 nearly 40+ at all times on high settings.

Although my APU is a bottleneck. Card never goes above 75% usage.

I think the problem with SoM was that I had the settings on too high from when I was playing with my 290 CF, it would just hit the 1 GB cap and crap itself. I'm sure if I had the settings all on low beforehand it would be able to at least start the game. Especially considering the minimum required GPU for SoM is a 1 GB card as well.

Yeah, I had no problem running it.

I saw a 650ti on /r/hardwareswap earlier for $55 if you want to chase that

Not really, as I have both a 750 ti and a 970 already.

Well I installed the 250x into my parents computer, which is pretty old and ran the same benchmarks on their machine.

 

This was run on a 1600x900 monitor.

Computer Specs:
Q6600
8 GB DDR2

7200 RPM HDD

Now with CSGO, cpu usage was hitting 100% with GPU usage rarely hitting 50%, goes to show just how much the Q6600 has aged.

Rocket league performed fairly well, though it still suffered from the cpu bottleneck

I may look into trying to overclock the Q6600 to get some better performance, but since its in some weird hp motherboard I doubt much can be done, if anything.

Nice review, got some good insight.

It seems like the 250X can still give enough frames for an enjoyable gaming experience (not in all games though).

But good review.....I believe I have a similar card to this...So far good at playing MC, LOL, Dota 2, and a bunch of other modern games and games released a couple months ago
