GPU Recommendation

So I wanted to get a new pc and coincidentally, I also won a 3840*1440 monitor in a drawing. What type of gpu would i need to play lol, dota, Heros of the Storm, Steam Games, and skyrim at this resolution and ultra settings?

id recommend something like a 390 minimum and a 390x as recommended

The games you listed are not very intensive games except for skyrim (steam games is far to vague). Probably would recommend just like a GTX 960 for Moba games, but if you want to play skyrim at 1440p with ultra settings id reccommend probably a GTX 970 or 980.

I'd get a 390X or 9800ti to run games smoothly at high. (Assuming by "Steam Games" you mean games like GTA V, Crysys 3, Witcher 3, etc.)

A 390X/980 seems like it will fit your needs, as your games arm't know for being particularity demanding.

If you liked Skyrim, I'd suggest you try other more demanding games (The Witcher 3, Dragon Age: Inquisition, possibly Shadows of Mordor etc) and take full advantage of that display.

If you can afford it shoot for something with a bit more muscle like a normal Radeon Fury.

You'll probably need to say what kind of budget (max) you had in mind though, for what you listed the Fury is a little overkill unless you went overboard on the Skyrim mods. In which case you can tax any GPU out there at that resolution.

gtx 980Ti would be something you oughta save up for; it's good at 1440p and decent at 4k; so not only are you good to go for 1440p but you also have some sort of "future-proofness" for upgrading, like winning a 4k 144Hz IPS 40' monitor.

No one mentions R9 Fury non X?? Depends on the price. If you can find one similar to the price of 980, I'd recommend Fury from Sapphire.

unless the monitor has a Gsync module, yeah i would go with an R9 390 personally.
