(shitty video, although its short)

atleast one of these should fix it

edit: seems like changing the launcher to admin rights have been most succesfull among people, you should try it before installing C++

Every time i try to play GTA 4, it flashes a black screen and puts me on the desktop with the application still running. I try to do every way i can to enter the game and it just does the same thing. i have no idea how to fix this

Actually just had the exact same problem with AC Rogue. Fixed it by doing an ini edit and changing full screen to borderless windowed mode.

That is worth a try for definite.

verify cache?

disable firewall?

Run in win xp mode?

Go into config and change to 800 * 600 resolution? (run in windowed mode, as Master Disaster said (it does help in some games))

update video drivers

reinstall?

Here is how you change resolution without entering the game:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/952150-grand-theft-auto-iv/57743589

also, you have windows fire wall, if so then try disabling that for a while

as i stated above, i'm barely comfortable building my own PC, so i'll try to find an ini on the internet

I allowed access when the game first ran, if that's what you mean.

Also, going back to the XP mode thing, that caused the seculauncher error i was having yesterday.
