Win10 or nah?

I've been considering upgrading for a while now but whenever I'm going to do it I re-think it and end up not doing it.

 

My line of thought: "Windows 7 aint broken, so why fix it?"

 

But I kinda want a final answer

 

Should I upgrade? And why should(n't) I?

Windows 7 has lost mainstream support too. Only extended support, which means very late massive security flaw fixes.

You should update for DX12 as your hardware is capable of using it.

Also 10 offers improved UEFI support, fast boot support, secure boot support and hugely increased resource management.

Once you've upgraded from 7 it's worth doing a clean UEFI support install to take advantage of 10 properly, assuming you want sub 10 second boot times.

Dude, mine goes from click of the power button to login screen in 6 seconds. It's insane how fast Win 10 boots in UEFI mode.

Yep, I did a guide for it in the tutorials sub forum. Will dig out the link for you in a second.

Remember you'll have to upgrade first as you are now. Once that's done and Windows is activated properly then clean install as per the guide.

One last thing, your activation status is tied to a Microsoft Account so when upgrading make sure you either sign into an account or you create one. After the clean install sign in to the account and it will automatically activate for you. If you don't sign .into an account you won't be able to activate after the clean installl.

Going back on topic, I'm waiting till the privacy issues with Win10 are better resolved, I know that you don't really have privacy online but having that on the OS is a bit worrying, and till I get myself an SSD so that I can do a clean install to it.
