Changing motherboard WINDOWS 10 Reinstall needed, how?

Nyubie

Hey guys, I'm not really sure which sections this belongs in, I'm really sorry If I posted in the wrong section :(.

I'm changing my motherboard, from a mini itx to a full size one (changing case etc).

I have a windows 10 pro installed (upgraded from Win7), I do not have any install disc obviously.

How do I proceed ?

old mobo MSI Z97i AC New mobo MSI Z97s KRAIT SLI i7-4790k

Thank you so much in advance.

ps: I don't mind reformatting my drives, I just really don't know how to keep my license and my windows 10 install. since I have no disc/copy of win10, just my c drive.

**EDIT AND WHAT HAPPENED** :

Changing my motherboard meant I had to reactivate. Simply clicking the activate button gave me an error code; 0xC004C003. Couldn't find a way online to reactivate it. Turns out the key I had before was jsut a generic key microsoft gave to everyone updating from win 7 to 10pro. This meant they had another way to check if windows was genuine. I had to call microsoft, ofc I decide to call too late and MSFT france is out of working hours, decide to call MSFT UK, got in touch with Rahim, I explain my situation, give him the error code, he put me on hold for 3 min and gave me a new key that activated my windows :)

TLDR: Call MSFT if you're in my case.

I did not come with a prebuilt system, I got it myself.

you can likely just uninstall your drivers and transfer the drive, this will cause you to have to reactivate.

So it will reactivate easily ? checking only one system is using this license ?

since its not a oem key you should be able to get ms to reactivate it for your new board once you have it all installed

Hell yes, I called up a few times because various windows would not activate over the internet. it's all automated. You hit a crap ton of numbers it asks for and type in a crap ton it tells you, then it says whether activation was successful or not and you hang up if so, all done in 5 min.

The only thing I can give some robot on the phone is the product ID I have in Control Panel/System and security/system would that be good ?

It usually tells you what you do to open up the activation window on the phone, this usually pops up if for some reason windows fails activation. A window will pop up telling you to put in a different number or call. IDK if it's stayed the same in ten because it activated for me.

An idea: I don't see why you could not install 7 on your new computer or reactivate it if it is 7 already, THEN upgrade to 10, that'd work for sure. I even changed hardware on an OEM copy of 7 once and it worked over the phone.
