Moto x 2014 phone call loudspeaker problems?

Hey everyone,

As I'm sure you can see by the title, I was wondering if anybody here has had or has heard of problems with the loudspeaker while on a phone call. For some reason when I am on a phone call and place the person on loudspeaker they say that there is an overwhelming amount of background noise and static noise. Do I have a faulty moto x 2014 or is this a software issue that I can fix myself??
