INWIN 909 review (black/red)

this is my review of the new INWIN 909. first let me say that this case is spectacular. although that does come at a hefty price retailing around 450 usd.

Design: the main portion is constructed out of one quarter inch thick piece of aluminum. the two side panels are made out of tempered glass and are held on by thumb screws.

Features:it supports up to 8 120mm fans or 6 140mm and 1 120mm fans. supports any motherboard from mini itx all the way up to e-atx. it has 4 3.5 inch hard drive bays and 6 2.5 inch ssd brackets. it has 8 PCI-E slots. 3 usb 3.0 front headers and 1 usb 3.1 (type c) front header.

Dimensions:  21.3" x 9" x 22.6" or 540 x 231 x 575mm

Pros: amazing design, full custom liquid cooling support, magnetic dust filter on the bottom fans, tempered glass does a surprisingly good job not showing cables personal pro looks like the obelisk 2001 a space odyssey, and the case has these little fan brackets that pop out and allow for easy installation of fans.

Cons: hard to access the rear io, the front fans are pulling air in from a tiny gap in the tempered glass as the entire front is a solid panel, there is no airflow over the hdd drives, dust and finger print magnet (inwin gives you a microfiber cloth), little hard to fit an aio cooler that's 240mm (i recommend a 120mm aio if you use one) and this one is personal preference but there is no 5 and 1/4 inch drive bay. (although i will be adding a brushed aluminum external drive bay in the pocket underneath the bottom fans) EDIT: one last big con 45 pound (20.6 kg) case

The case looks absolutely amazing. Sad to hear that it's a dust/finger magnet just like my H440, it annoys me to no end having to clean it every 2 weeks <_<

How is the general airflow in the case? (excluding the hard drive section)

the glass is the only thing that shows fingerprints the brushed aluminum is dark enough to hide most of the finger prints

I just think the case is ugly... Not my style.

BeQuiet! Silent Base 800 would be my perfect case but it has no PSU cover but I am still getting it within the next 5-6 weeks

For desktop cases being heavy is not a bad thing. It just means you get more.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

i know but if i have to take it anywhere when my custom water cooling loop and mods are in and everything it will probably be around 70 to 80 pounds

I think it looks fantastic, but pricey and seems somewhat impractical...

Good review, too :)

Bad, just bad. But you have to sacrifice something for those looks, and its not like its unusable, just, limited.

not that bad

In one of your photos there's a blank spot where the ad would be. Clearly ad block

The ads are largely region based, and the ad at the top right is fairly intermittent it seems, coming and going without much reason. But you probably have had ads there, but are just used to it being blank so there by ignore them. There definitely has been an ad there, even since i joined the site.

  • 2 weeks later...

Nice case, great pics. May need some modding.

Could you post the dimensions (width, length, depth) of the hard drive area, motherboard area, and rear fan area?
