service host local system (15) uses 50% cpu at idel

TheGrim123321

so i was playing tf2 the other day and it was freezing some so i open the task manager and whoop service host local system 15 was using 40-60% cpu it does this during idel and gaming. any way to get it to stop i noticed there was a service called background intelligence trasnfer and I mean if the Nsa are spying on me could they at least use less cpu? anyway to stop service host local system 15 from using all my cpu

lol nice :P

If you know the specific process doing it you could try setting it to a low priority in task manger.

You can also probably stop and even disable the service using services.msc so it doesn't come back, but without knowing what it is, I can't recommend that since it could break other things

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

If its service host you wont be able to  change the priority on it as its a core service that bundles in lots of "required" stuff. Best bet is to download Process Explorer from microsoft technet (should be the first link on a google search) this will let you expand the svchost and see which specific service is using up CPU. Then we can focus the troubleshooting from there.
