First time computer builder

Here's the set-up: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Croum/saved/#view=QpCQzy

I will be using this build for Gaming and Video-editing. I'm going to upgrade to the 980Ti when I have enough money.

I NEED SUGGESTIONS

I need suggestions for an RGB Keyboard (preferably one that doesn't need to USB slots)

I also need a suggestion for a gaming mouse, I need one that is good for all genres of gaming

I will post pictures when I get to certain stages of completion

Thanks for reading!

There you are: Don't buy a pricy graficscard like the 390 just to replace it when you have the monec to do it. Run integrated grafics and safe up if you need the functional system right now wait until you can afford everything. getting a 390 as a placeholder is utter waste.

3.Use

Jesus christ, I'm sick of people saying the NEX series is "crap".

I have it. It's not crap. I've done very large overclocks with no problem. It's lasted a very long time. Great price.

Can we stop calling out things we don't even own?

There are much more professional reviewers out there taking them apart and looking at the actual components to determine quality and they seem a lot more trust worthy than a "hasn't yet failed on me "-comment.

You don't need thermal paste. The H100i comes with pre-applied thermal paste.

"preferably one that doesn't need to USB slots" By this you mean two?

Well, do you want a mechanical keyboard? What switches do you want? What's your budget for the keyboard + mouse?

better to use your own paste instead of the pre applied

depends on the paste being used. pre applied paste on most coolers is good stuff. only bad thing about it is its a one time use

PC Audio Setup = Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 80 ohm and Sennheiser pc37x (also for xbox) hooked up to Schiit Fulla 3

Well the K70 RGB Keyboard requires a USB 3.0 or two USB 2.0 to work (sorry I misspelt that)

Mechanical keyboard is a must

Any kind of switch that makes a satisfying sound, but won't make me throw it out the window after extended use.

Keyboard £100ish

Mouse £50ish

Depends on how far OP is going to overclock, really.

I will overclock quite a bit, but for around £3 on amazon it will be useful to have.

considering I will use the 390 for 2 years I wouldn't exactly call it a placeholder. Don't jump to conclusions :)

I have never seen any "professional" review say it's crap.

Of course, it's definitely not as good as a G2/GS. Those are some of the best PSUs on the market.

But you don't describe the NEX as crap. That's not what it is.

Crap is a EVGA White. NEX is just "good".

Quote the part where I call it crap.

That wasn't clear to me. In 2 years the 980Ti will probably outdated anyway. In the case of keeping your card for 2 years before upgrading go for the 390.

Here's a short description of most of the MX switches that I made earlier today:

"Reds are very light, linear and non-clicky. Blacks are decently stiff, but also linear and non-clicky. Browns are light and non-clicky, but they're tactile. Blues are very tactile and very loud and clicky. "

Find which one of those you would prefer, then I'll recommend a keyboard. I'll recommend the Logitech G502. Although it's especially a stellar choice in FPS games, what makes it that is its very strong sensor, as well as many programmable keys, very comfortable feel, and it looks sweet.

Blue MX Switches, side note, what ones do you have?

I have Blues are well. My keyboard is the Blackwidow Ultimate 2013, which is a really awesome keyboard, but I'm not sure if it's available to purchase anymore.

If not, I'll recommend the Cooler Master CM Storm Quickfire TK. It's a really reliable model with blue backlighting (and MX Blue switches). https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-keyboard-sgk4020

Does the CM Keyboard have a key to lock the windows button so it can't be pressed?
