No, there are not any ship restrictions.

Oh, also forgot to mention that the only ship requirements are that it be a single seater or two seater fighter.

Having to choose between you beautiful people was difficult so I employed a complex algorithm and lots of thought. It gave me this:

I would be up for being a Gunner if someone needs it.  Otherwise I don't have a fighter, just a 315p.  If the fancy sensor array works in SC 2.0 I can be a scout but my ship doesn't have much punch.

As it stands, getting good at the Cutlass is not very worthwhile. Speaking from experience, it needs a bit of work before it's ready. As it is right now, the Avenger is the ship of choice in AC (as far as I've seen), and is a good ship to start with.

I don't think dogfighting will be my Forte and who couldn't use some advanced sensors? If there is no use for the tracker, I will switch out.

But I will make a recommendation to pick up the $5 Super Hornet to Saber upgrade, under extras, but don't apply it yet. It's only $5 and effectively lets you choose the better dogfighter.
