Ultrawide vs Triple Monitor Setup

Which would offer a better experience for a gamer? I also look to do some schoolwork on my PC, but it is not my main focus for this build. Would my PC be able to handle the triple monitors all running at 1080p?

If you have any suggestions for a monitor, I would like 60hz or more, 1080p, thin bezels, and for the monitor to be VESA mountable. I am leaning more towards the ultra wide monitor for the lack of bezels and lower price tag, I think it will be a better experience for me. However, the triple monitor setup seems to offer an amazingly immersive experience with the massive FOV options. I am also weary of bad optimization for triple monitor setups.

I am looking to run games like Modded Skyrim, Fallout, and Crysis, as well as Battlefield, CS GO, Minecraft (I don't think my build can handle this one, but we'll see how it goes), Borderlands, and newer AAA titles that release.

Also, if you recommend a triple monitor setup, how would you go about hooking them all up with the graphics card I have inside of my build? Would I need to have a splitter or something to that effect? Thanks for reading and please provide your input in the replies.

Do you want big ass bezels and a higher price (can multitask)

or one big monitor no bezels (cannot multitask) unless alt tab or windows virtual desktop thingy counts as multitasking

Are you a casual gamer (ohhh pretty graphics)

or a competitive gamer (MOAR FPS!!!!)

EDIT: Also if you do graphic design don't get ultrawide all the pixel shit is screws up

If you're multitasking, get multiple monitors. On ultrawides, it's hard to divvy up windows and things like that.

So, the sacrifice you're making is the gap between your monitors for more usability.

For games, ultrawide is the way to go. It's easier to run, looks nicer and has better compatibility. For production and everyday use, triple monitors is better IMO. I like ultrawide, but I'd go for triple monitors everytime because the multitasking capabilities are awesome. Also, with Windows 10, support for multiple monitors has improved a lot, so snapping and quick sizing things is much easier.

Maybe go for an ultrawide for gaming, with a 1080p monitor for multitasking next to it.

First off consider 1 thing. Racing games 3 monitors ye looks good. Shooters (especially multiplayer) 3 monitors is prob just to much it will most likely have a negative influence on your performance. Oflline games yea full immersion great everything to make it look nice.

So ask yourself, how competitive are you in your online shooters?

Whatever your answer is you could still opt for either ultrawide or triple. But if you go triple you will probably notice that you will be playing shooters on just the middle screen.

Also for school work or anything else. Some said multitasking is better on 3 screens then ultrawide. Yea kinda, Linus uses the ultrawide for his office. You can easily 'split' your screen in 2 parts by dragging windows left and right instead of maximizing them. And half a screen of ultrawide is good enough to see a whole page in pdf/word or websites. And there is prob software to let the maximizing act like you have 2 screen (or mayby 3). So dont base it to much on working. I got 3 screens and it sure is handy. But if you go ultrawide and for work you rather have another screen. Buy a cheap 100$ one. I got 3 but mainly using 2, the third is for youtube music playlist or a stream as background.

In the end this is a very personal choice you have to make. Try listing your pros and cons for each setup, bezels but wider or no bezels. performance gaming or immersion gaming or both (3mon setup and just 1 for online gaming, but smaller for online then). Make a full list, look at it and try deciding on what you find important.

Thanks for everyone's input! I appreciate your time. For my build and gaming interests, I think I will go with the LG Ultrawide. Plus, as a bonus, it will free up some desk space for me to put my  stuff and PC to display it better. Also, I'll look into another SSD, Marius, thanks for the advice.
