What should I invest in?

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU once in over five years, my budget is 300€ (or about 340USD).

Right now I'm running 4GB DDR2 and a Q9505.

I need to fit a CPU, RAM and a new motherboard into the budget, so right now I've been looking at the FX 8320.

I don't know if it's going to be worth it though, what do you guys think?

FX chips aren't worth your money. It's a dead platform and you'd get a way better experience on Intel right now.

Well considering your graphics card is at least a GTX650, going with an i5-4690 should be good. Throw in a few bucks and you might even get the i5-4690k and do some overclocking with it. And a motherboard should be around 80 dollars. 200+80=280. Maybe try to fit in some cash for another 4 gbs of ram?

FX will do fine for that but the i5 is better, but there is no M-ATX boards that can handle the 8-core so if I where you get FX-6300(95w) or i5-4460!

Yes it is. Value is a subjective term. When it comes to pcs, I value being able to game at 60+fps with great graphics so I invested in my current gaming rig. The value I extract from the investment is the time I get out of it.

Since I'm getting a 144hz monitor, too, I'm looking to get at least a stable 200fps in CS. Right now it's running at around 120.
I think I'm going to get the stuff I posted in the link earlier.
