but those have stupid pixels and colors, my 900p monitor looks better than my 1080p secondary tv at 32 inches.

a decent quality TV uses IPS, and you need to change the colour  settings to match the PC output

its the same as a big monitor

 

of course if you buy a cheap or crappy tv like a seiki then of course it will look bad

no its a pretty good samsung, i got a 4k tv for my living room and started using this as a secondary. I just cant seem to match my damn colors at all. either something else changes way too much and looks unnatural or i have bad eyes. But my cheapo 900p acer monitor that i got 3 years before my 32'' TV looks so much better and sharper.

I just cant seem to match my damn colors at all. either something else changes way too much and looks unnatural or i have bad eyes. it should be plugged into HDMI 1 (and only HDMI 1 port)

 

you need to rename the HDMI 1 input to "PC"

then the HDMI black level needs to be set to "LOW" not "NORMAL"

 

mine is set to standard picture mode, 50% backlight, 100% contrast, 50% brightness, 50% sharpness, 0 gamma and standard white balance

it looks just like a normal IPS monitor

very accurate colours and huge viewing angles

 

also you might need to change your GPU control panel settings a little like calibration and if youre using a GTX900 GPU enabling full 4:4:4 chroma subsampling

Hmm, it says shipping is free.  That's pretty weird  considering how huge the box is.  There might be some tax like you said, but it can't be that much.

I have a 65" LG 4K Smart TV with an ips panel and the picture is beautiful.

Yes, I upgraded my living room TV to 4k, thats why i have my old 32'' as a secondary. Its not as crispy and creamy as the 4k i must say, but it also isnt as creamy as my main 900p monitor.
