My first Mech Keyboard: Tt eSports Poseidon Z Blue Edition

dark_xzyph3r

Hey guys, I bought my first Mech keyboard Sunday and it finally arrived today. I have never used a Mech Keyboard, I have been using it for the whole day today and am LOVING it.

I used to use a Microsoft $5 membrane keyboard, and a Mac keyboard.

I bought the keyboard for only $50 used when the keyboard retails for about $90, so I think that is a good price for my first mech keyboard. I also like the fact that it has a "Gaming Mode" button that disables the windows key.

Packaging: I would post pics of the packaging but since I bought it used I didn't have any.

Feel: Feels GREAT, it has Kailh Blue switches which aren't as good as Cherry blue switches, but it is mechanical and not trash. It is weighty compared to my other keyboards. No flex in the keyboard.

Now to move on to what I don't like about the keyboard....

I don't like that the keyboard lighting doesn't light up the whole keycap, Just the top. I wish there were more brightness levels, I wish it had some Micro keys or Software. Now I know at this price point I can't have all of the features but I think they could have atleast fixed the lighting problems. I wish it had a USB pass through for my mouse but again at this price point I can't ask for much.

Conclusion: The keyboard is great if you can get it for $60 or lower, I don't think the keyboard is worth $90 (Newegg) for not having proper back-lighting and not having a pass through for my mouse. When Keyboards like the: Adesso MKB-135B Pro is $75 and has Proper Cherry switches, 2 Port USB Hub and Audio pass through, But it doesn't have Back lighting.

Even though this keyboard doesn't have Proper Back Lighting and it doesn't have any USB pass through for my mouse or a USB drive. I still would take this keyboard over my Membrane keyboard that has USB passthrough, any day.

This is a great keyboard for somebody who hasn't owned a Mechanical Keyboard and just wants to see how it is to be part of the Mechanical Keyboard Master Race. Just try not to pay full price and get it cheap.

Sorry for the bad photo quality, I took them with my phone and it doesn't have the best quality camera.

At this price-point the Cooler Master Quickfire TK is a good option to look into as well that a lot of people seem to like.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I have the ten key less version of this keyboard, and I completely agree with you. It's a fine board for the price. I also have cherry mx blue switches in another mech keyboard, and I can't really tell the difference between them.

I personally see myself buying a Raptor K40 before I'd go near most Kailh keyboards (I've used Kailh keyboards in the past and I dislike the lack of consistency) but to each their own.

I have it, and I loved it... up until the V key stopped working and I had to RMA it 9 months later (shipping it out this weekend).  5-year warranty is cool, though.

Do you know if the warranty will move over to another person if the keyboard gets sold?

Generally no, they will ask you for your proof of purchase so unless you have it your might be shit out of luck.

that's why you should always demand a receipt when you buy used stuff (if they're still in warranty)

Yup, I always do that when buying or selling used.

If it is a friend buying stuff from me they know I keep all my receipts and invoices so they only usually ask when something is broken
