what about CRUCIAL® MX200 250GB 2.5” SSD for 61 us dollar.Manufacturer refurbished .

I have a Kingston V300 120GB SSD that I use for my boot drive, and I can say that it is significantly faster than a hard drive. Boot up times are very low and my programs are very responsive. They may not be the best SSDs, but for something like an OS, it serves its purpose very well.

The crucial is a proper ssd. The V300 is very slow.

 

My V300 rocks 500mb/s write speeds in benchmarks on my MBP so what the hell are you talking about

Kingston took a lot of heat over the V300 bait and switch that was done, so a large majority that are familiar with SSDs remember that incident and refuse to purchase the V300.

There are 2 different controllers used. 1 is great, the other is terrible. You got a good one, but many did not. Why play the lotto?
