970 vs 780ti 144hz

Zoomv

Hello guys,

I need your help, for my personal rig I am going to get a 970 or a 780ti

so I can play bf4 at high settings at 144fps.

I have two questions:

Should I get the 970 for 250 bucks or the 780ti for 275 bucks

I'll be gaming on a 144h monitor. My problem is that

I have 6mb download speed and 0.3mb upload speed.

Is it worth it to get a 144hz monitor or will the ping make

the 144hz useless?

Thanks

I think that 780Ti is going to perform better in DX12 due to it being more powerful computing power-wise.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

It'll be paired with a i5 3570k or a i5 4690k

How will ping make the refresh rate of your monitor useless?

And the 780ti was/is on par with the 980 so 780ti for sure.

For BF4, the highest tickrate for a server is 40Hz, so it's not the best.

But, the game will look hella awesome!

To answer your question, on GPU boss, the 780ti beats the 970 in every test other than noise and power consumption. BUT! It has one less GB of RAM. If you want to play games other than BF4, get the 970.

because the 144hz mean refresh rate but if the shots of the enemy in multiplayer arrive "faster" on a 144hz but If I have ping problems

I'll see the shots later anyways

do you mean that The game runs at 40hz so it doesn't even depend on the fps and monitor?

Well, the game doesn't run at a Hz rate, the server does. Your screen will refresh as fast as it can, and the game will look super good, very fluid motions and such. But, when it comes to things like killing enemies ect, it doesn't matter.

Really though, 144Hz is not useless if you like your game to look pretty. Also, in GTA the higher the framerate the better. :)

Will a 970 or 780ti look better on a 144hz monitor or 1440p monitor

and is there a big difference between high hand ultra?

I have a 1080p monitor, I cannot see the difference in anything other than textures.

Also, I don't know what you mean by which one will look better. They will put out the same picture quality.

So   1   144hz 780ti 3570k (used)

        2  144hz   970 3570k (used)

        3   60hz    970 4690k (new)

        4   60hz  780ti 4690k (new)

If it would be your computer which configuration would yoyo pick?

The problem is that I cannot spend more... So I can only get the 144hz monitor if I buy the 3570k

That's true...

So is 144hz worth it considering my slow internet connection?

780ti or 970?

Thanks for your help

I can't choose for you. I use 75Hz (60Hz overclocked) and I am fine with it. If you're gonna play GTA, might as well get the better CPU.

Is there a huge difference in fps between 144hz and 60 or 75?

Absolutely. You would enjoy 144hz more, but the processor wouldn't be able to run that fast. Just get the better processor now and wait to upgrade your monitor later.

Yes. If you are used to 60 there is a huge difference.
