Best GTX970 brand?

As interesting as this will sound to some people, I'm building my first full on gaming computer. I have already affirmed that I do not need any sort of GTX980 or above and have settled on the 970. The one thing I have noticed, the plethora of brands, which brand(s) are the best? Asus, gigabyte, etc.?

You should really consider the r9 390... cheaper in the us, and has more performance

g1 gaming or windforce you could consider 390 but i wouldn't

Gigabyte Windforce 3X or the G1 Gaming are excellent. The EVGA cards have a good reputation also.

390 or 970, both are good choices. The 970 is excellent for 1080p, but tends to drop off at 1440.

It really kinda depends on what you plan to do with it.  Will you be overclocking?  Will you be water cooling?  Plan to leave it on air, and stock clocks?

If you're not an overclocker, and plan to just run it on air, I would likewise, suggest the 390.

If you plan to put it underwater, and overclock it (and maybe even do a custom bios), I would suggest the EVGA 970 FTW, the Gigabyte G1 970, or the MSI 970.  Just, stay away from the Strix....they're horribad.
