Yes. It will run better than w7. Just make sure you do clean install or atleast a reset after you upgrade, to get rid of windows 7 files.

Yes, but clean install is still better. Updated windows will never be as clean, registry and stuff. Windows 10 is really easy to reinstall after you upgrade, don't even need the key, just plug in a usb stick click next a couple of times.

How do i do I clean install, because I don't have the activation code and it will probably ask for it isn't it?

No, no. You upgrade first. Then you clean install after the upgrade and just skip all the keys. It will activate itself.

Basic rule of thumb with win10 is that if the computer ran 7, it will run 10, and even faster.

When in doubt, re-format.

Ok, I was just wondering if I would've ran into any problems. Thank you!

It will run better than w7.

It's very suspicious that w10 will run better than w7 on 3-4 years old rig... But at least it will run...

-I do not have the activation KEY

In that case you are fucked... After upgrade from 7 to 10 (and activating) it's mandatory to do clean install, but if you do this you can't roll back (or clean install) to w7 if you don't like w10... I suggest to think twice before upgrading to w10... And than think again...

PS: Or just get ready to buy new key for w7...

w10 is much better optimized, because it has tablets in mind.

Actually, that's false.

Windows 8/8.1/10 require support for PAE, NX, and SSE2 from the CPU. (which can be found on most of not all dual core and higher CPUs)

While an older single core CPU will be able to run Windows 7 just fine (I'm running Win 7 on an old P4 single core hyperthreaded), I can't install Windows 8/8.1/10 on that machine

So you are asked for an activation key when you upgrade?

No, simply upgrade first. What we mean is if there is a windows logo button in your system try, click it and use that to upgrade to windows 10 or download the windows 10 media creation tool (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install) and click "upgrade this computer now"

When you upgrade, Microsoft makes a windows 10 key that is tied to your hardware. So, no matter how many times you fresh install after this, windows will automatically activate.

After upgrading, if your machine is running poorly (things are slow or there is some weird bug) you can fresh install. To do this very easily you can just go to settings>upgrade & security>recovery then click on "reset this PC" and it will whip everything off your pc and basically clean install windows 10. BUT BEFORE DOING THIS make sure you save all of your important files (pictures, documents, ect) onto a separate drive.

Your system should be fine with windows 10. But if you decide you don't want to use windows 10 you can revert back to windows 7 if you keep your windows.old folder.
