Windows 8.1- set audio output priorities

Greetings,

I'm rather new to windows 8, and haven't figured out how to prioritize audio outputs yet.

I have my speakers plugged in via rear audio, but I'd like for all audio to switch to my headphones when I plug them in via front panel audio, even with the speakers plugged in. As of now, apps like iTunes play off the speakers no matter what, although system sounds switch to the headphones.

Can anyone help me configure my settings this way?

Regards,
Aereldor.

UPDATE: Fixed the issue from within iTunes. For anyone facing the same problem- make sure the device you want to use whenever it's plugged in is set as 'Default audio' (right click on volume control>playback devices>select the device>make default). Then in iTunes, go to preferences>playback>play audio using:>select 'Direct Sound'. You'll need to restart iTunes for the change to come into effect.
