R9 280x PPD

Go to solution Solved by Imakuni,

Hello LTT humans! I have a 280x and am wondering what kind of return I would be getting. Thanks!

How about you just start folding and just see by yourself, without us having to guess random numbers that are going to be all over the place and? Seriously, PPD depends on so many things that it becomes hard to just spit a number. Depends on the the particular WUs you get, the time you spend folding, your OC, the quick return bonus bullshjt......

Just fold for a month, using the PC as you normally would, and then get the points earned and divide by the number of days. That's really the best estimate one can have.

Yeah, sorry. Just out of curiosity, how much does an OC affect ppd? I haven't OC'd anything and I might get into it with this.

Quite a bit, actually. You can get a very nice boost in performance, and if you are willing to do it, then by all means go ahead.....

...as long as the OC is 100% stable. Remember, F@H is a lot more sensitive than your average gaming stress tests. I can have my Gtx 970 perfectly fine at +220 mhz in gaming, but for Folding / Boinc, I'm stuck with +164 as my limit (yes, I've seen crashes with +165).
