Updated. It would be really cool if some of you guys could try running with iGPU instead of dGPU and seeing what the results are (I would but... x99 problems).

If you are upgrading, I'd highly recommend doing a fresh install. Windows 10 looks really shitty when it tries to mimic the older setups.

It would be faster to fresh install directly (but then again it shouldn't matter too much if doing on an ssd. On an HDD windows 10 factory reset on my laptop took literally 5 hours.

Long story short (actually, still kind of long haha), a program I used could now use much more RAM than before, I now finally successfully allocated more to it :P But that meant my "mere" 8GB was not enough anymore. Always when I used that program a lot, my RAM usage would immediately jump to around 7.7GB (according to task manager). Many, many programs got randomly closed (once it closed my GPU drivers -_-), and tabs would just crash, and much more trouble. It really sucked :/

 

Anyways, so the following screenshot was at 1 AM, after my PC has been on for an impressive 8 hours, most likely all those 8 hours my RAM was completely filled. During that period, I never closed any Windows or any other programs services, only the ones I personally activated (by just clicking the X in the right top corner). It was 1 AM, so I obviously already had to be sleeping for a long time. I closed all the programs soon after one another. Because I had task manager open the whole time, I then noticed the following:

WHAT?! 622 MB?!?!  :o.

 

How on earth did this happen... Everything appeared to still all be working just fine, you can notice the taskbar being weird, that's because that is one of the processes Windows supposedly closed on its own.

 

Just like last time, this is on my normal computer. i7 3770k, Z77, 8GB of RAM, and a GTX 680. A 64bit Windows 7 install, which is about 1 and a half years old.

 

 

So, once again, 622MB, pc had been on for 8 hours, 8GB RAM, 64 Windows 7. RAM probably had been completely filled for all those 8 hours. I didn't close any things that you're not supposed to close.

 

Come at me, please. :D

Windows 10 with a driver issue, so desktop, taskbar, and start menu crash upon startup.
