USBs Stop Functioning Randomly on Motherboard

Not sure if this is where to post this, but hopefully this is okay. Need some help!

I have an Enermax Ostrog case (relevant because of the front USB ports)

Specs are

Generic HP Motherboard from a pre-built PC - On CPU-Z it says manufacturer: Pegatron Corperation - Model: Benicia - Chipset: Intel P35/G33/G31

MB Bios - American Megatrends Inc, Version 5.25, Date 06/16/2008

Q6700 cpu

6gb DDR2 800mhz

EVGA 500+ Bronze PSU

EVGA GTX 960 2GB SSC

Razr Deathadder Mouse

Razr (Deathadder/stalker) keyboard.

So my mouse is plugged into the front USB of the case, and once in a while if the USB is jiggled, the front USBs and 2 back USBs stop working entirely until I restart my computer. You know how somtimes if you tap something plugged in through USB, it disconnects and reconnects? The mouse and keyboard are perfectly fine, the case isn't the issue since I have a different motherboard in it for a couple months and this never happened, so I assume it's the current motherboard (bios voltage problem?). There's 4 USBs on the MB, and 4 on the front (1 x 3.0). But 2 of the front USBs don't work (including the 3.0) because the motherboard is a bit older, hence the outdated hardware. Everything's connected properly into the front, but I don't understand why 2 back USBs stop working at the same time from this.

So any ideas why this is happening?

Also, I know the GPU is overkill to the current setup, but I'm replacing the mb, ram and cpu in a few months :b

Seems to me like the best fix might be to just buy a powered USB hub...

What exactly is that? I've seen them before on Amazon, but never used one, or understand what they do

Basically anything plugged into it sources the 5V from an external power supply instead of the PC's power supply. I am wondering if it is having some sort of fault in the 5V line.

Oh okay, so it would plug into the wall than? It doesn't add any weird delay to the devices though, does it? And yea, that's what I'm thinking. Might just be a straight up hardware issue. Was hoping it might've been something in the BIOS (I just don't know how to use it).

I cannot imagine it is a bios fault. I think it is ha hardware problem. I do not see any delays from using a hub, but I am no hardcore gamer...

Alright, well thanks for the opinion and the help :D I'll just get myself a hub and see what happens
