I can't figure out how to assign volume to disk

WereCat

Hi. I have disk in PC on which I want install Windows from USB but that disk says it has no volume and reports that it has 0b free space out of 0b.

Disk is in fact 500GB and I can see it in BIOS.

I am trying to figure out how to make it work trough CMD in advanced boot menu but I don't know how.

I have only USB with Windows ISO and that HDD so I am on my phone right now.

I know the disk works and I can find it in Linux I have on LiveUSB which is buggy as hell and not persistent so it is basically limited just for browsing.

Try use USB 2.0 port.

Are you installing Win7? If yes try download SP1 ISO if first step failed.

Press Shift+F10 to bring up CMD window. Run Diskpart and type lis dis to list available drive/s.

I am installing Windows 10 and I have already done all of this.

U an in CMD and I am trying to give the disk a volume.

list disk

Disk 0 Online Size 0B Free 0B

select disk 0

Disk 0 is now the selected disk

create partition primary

Diskpart has encountered an error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

I don't know why it says it has 0B capacity. It is supposed to have 500GB.

EDIT:

I can't see the disk even in BIOS now. I guess it is not working then... Damn. I will try different Sata port.

Edit2:

Tried all sata ports but no detection. Looks like it is definitely dead :(
