Building New PC

BewmBoom

Hello

My name is Raphael

I am building a PC for the first time and are all these parts are compatible with each other and are there recommendations on anything I should do

AMD FX-4300 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor

Gigabyte GA-970A-D3P Motherboard

Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

EVGA Geforce Gtx 750 Ti 2GB FTW ACX Video Card

Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case

Corsair CX 430W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Ps I already have a cooler master v8 cpu cooler and a western digital blue caviar 640gb . I’m probably going to upgrade  either the hard drive or the Cpu Cooler. Please tell me if I should upgrade either of these two

Thank you for your assistance

Yours sincerely Raphael

Welcome to the Forum.

While those would all work together, there are a couple things:

1) The FX-4300 is pretty outdated and the AM3+ platform is pretty dead. I'd go with an Intel CPU at this price range, or go on FM2+ and go with an 860k.

2) You'd need to change motherboards if you went Intel or FM2+.

3) Corsair Vengeance heatspreaders can be extremely tall and might interfere with your CPU cooler, so I would look for a different set of RAM.

4) I wouldn't go with a Corsair CX 430. People say a lot of bad things about them. Go with an EVGA PSU instead if you want a cheap 500w.

Lastly, please use http://pcpartpicker.com

What he said. PLEASE get a better PSU.

Also, yeah, get a 950, or an R9 380. Those would be better for just a bit more money.

Also, maybe save up a bit more and get an i5. Better for gaming.

I used to be quite active here.

That's not a high end gaming rig at all, I guarantee a CX430 will be fine for it. What happened? Everybody seems to be circlejerking that PSU now even for builds that don't saturate 50% of its wattage.

@BewmBoom you should go with an i3-4160 imo

Hi Raphael!

We'll gladly help you put together a build, but it would be nice if you could give us some information first:

1. What country do you live in?

2. What is your budget?

Your build for the most part looks OK, but depending on where you live you might be able to get more performance for your money.

It will be a lot easier for us to help you if you tell us your budget for the system and what country you are located in.

Can someone enlighten me, last time I was on here a few months ago people were recommending CX-series PSU's left and right.... what happened? Did they start blowing up on people all of a sudden?
