Mayonnaise.

I have a NZXT Kraken X61 liquid cooling and a AMD FX-9590. I need the thermal paste replaced. What thermal paste should I go for?

@RedstoneUFO

I personally prefer the Prolimatech series.  PK-1, PK-2 and PK-3 are all great and better than Arctic Silver 5.

They're all generally going to give you about the same results, unless you get your paste from some crappy seller on ebay

Arctic Cooling Silver 5 or MX-4 is what i've used in the past. Extremely cheap and reliable.

Arctic MX-4 and noctua H1 are good price/performance pastes. Beyond that you pay too much for next to no improvement.

And please, for the love of god, ignore people saying arctic silver 5 is good. That shit is ancient and should be discontinued already imo!

who cares...

IC Diamond, Gelid GC-Extreme, and Cool Labs Liquid Pro are all top tier.  The only thing better that I can think of is Indigo Xtreme but it's a pain in the ass to apply for maybe 5 degrees better performance.

I like to use MX-4 due to it being easy to find and easy to work with, while also having pretty good temps

Lol, AS5 as the next to lowest temp.

AS5 is great but it's expensive. Noctua NT-H1 would probably be better for you.

I used to be quite active here.

The best is probably Gelid and Thermal Grizzly, which isn't on the chart.

The so-called the "best" is like 0.2*C better than GC Extreme, but costs twice as much.

Personally, I use MX-4 for everything. Easy to work with and non-conductive. A lot of companies use re-brand MX-4 for their cooler. NH-H1 also good, but its not that easy to work with. It kind hard, when try to get them out, you may get a surprise. (poooop)

I'm going to introduce a different graph and a link to the testing method. It looks more complete and better. Link: http://overclocking.guide/thermal-paste-roundup-2015-47-products-tested-with-air-cooling-and-liquid-nitrogen-ln2/

It seems that Liquid metal ones produce the best results. I've heard they work the best when applied to processors where you remove the heat spreader and replace the thermal compound.

Otherwise Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, IC Diamond 7, Prolimatech PK-3, Phobya NanoGrease Extreme and Gelid Solutions GC-Extreme are the best solutions out there. Easy to apply, no cure time and work very well. Thermal Grizzly seems to come up on top in this test though.

so just like i said, kryonaut is the best thing short of liquid metal lol  which i do not recommend using, since they work best for delidding and other such silly things

Correct. I backed you up with some scientific evidence.
