Gaming PC/ Video editing Rig (1st build)

Shimejii

So i have been meaning to get a desktop for my gaming pretty soon, That can also edit videos. I stream my gameplay of WOW on twitch or youtube (depending on progression or farm) and I would be doing a single monitor of 4k, and doing a most likley fps limit of 60 fps on the games for a smoother performance on medium to high settings. I have fixed and repaired school desktops and understand the build process but could use help too. I have some builds that will be posted below that i would like some opinions on to which is the better suited system for my kind of gaming and video editing.

Currently using : http://www.amazon.com/G75VW-17-Inch-Gaming-Laptop-VERSION/dp/B009M2XB3U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1444189127&sr=8-1&keywords=g75vw with 16 gb of ram windows 7 pro

My other laptop is : http://www.microcenter.com/product/408495/Qosmio_X875-Q7190_173_Laptop_Computer_-_Black_Widow_Styling_in_Diamond-Textured_Aluminum?ob=1 windows 10

Games : World of Warcraft, Rocket League, Gmod, Cs:go, Ark Survival evovled, GTA 5, Dead realm And potentially more down the line.

Builds : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QYh96h the 4790k build

              http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Whh96h the 5820k Build

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/PT2kMp the 5820k Upper Cooled Build

             http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XcNpcf the 6700k Build

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hMLyCJ the 6700k Upper Cooled Build

i made these builds so do point out any changes.

Build factors : I have a http://www.microcenter.com/ near me, which have better CPU Prices than almost anywhere else, so do take that into account!

Budget : 2500 But would prefer to stay around 2000-2200 for the computer, saving around 400-600 for the monitor, but going to 2500 is alright IF its worth it.

Monitor: I would like a 20-27 inch monitor of 3840x2160 Res Would prefer a 60-144 hz refresh. Would love some opinions on which ones are good here :D

Thanks for reading and advice :D

I'd go for the 5820k because of the extra cores and thread that will be better for rendering videos

Yeah I Put those builds together, And That was the point of the 5820k build because of the 6 cores and you can OC to about 4.2ghz+ so its worth it in that regard but other things can come into play, which is why i made 3 different builds that are very similar just have different CPUs and one different PSU and ofcourse ddr3 and ddr4

you can build something much less expensive if its just for streaming WoW. but if your trying to play GTA at 4K then you are going to need the 6700K.

Yeah i know i can just keep using my gaming laptop atm to stream wow that's not a problem as i currently do that and edit videos on it and such. But i do want to get into quicker video renders and exports, and be able to do 4k videos without having an extremely long export time, while also enjoying playing games with great details and such ^.^

well here ya go maybe, 5820k, dual 390s, with a 4k IPS free-sync display, I don't think there's any 4k G-sync displays out yet.

AAA games support dual GPUs a lot better nowadays, not sure about using freesync with dual GPUs though, I think they added it in the drivers a short while back

You could go with a single 980ti or a Fury card, but the 2 390s should outperform those cards by a decent margin. Especially when DX12 starts rolling out.

A little problem with this build that i would need to switch out would be Adding in a SSD 500 gb + a 32 gb set of ram around 2600+ and a better cpu cooler as the 2 390s would most likley be pumping out a lot more heat, and that would push the price above the 2500+ mark, though the monitor looks pretty good i will keep it on the list :D

As of right now Dual gpu's are kinda supported by games, but not many are actually utilizing it, the key one being tomb raider out of the big name games, but for the ones i will be playing i dont think i will need dual gpu for a single 4k monitor but i could be wrong :o

You'll need 2 GPUs to run games well at 4k, or a 980 ti/ Fury

http://www.tweaktown.com/tweakipedia/91/amd-radeon-r9-390x-crossfire-4k/index.html

Tomb Raider is in there, runs fine it seems. the 390s would just be a bit slower naturally, but still faster than a single Fury X or 980 ti

Was thinking of the wrong build, but here's a 4 pack of fans for heat, the case does come with some fans though

4 Pack $15

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103052

480GB SSD, $139

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/mushkin-internal-hard-drive-mknssdcr480gb7a

240m added, $109,

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rln24m24pkr1

added all that to the build, it's under 2500 still

so you really need 32GBs of RAM?

Yeah from what i read 32 gb of ram is the best for video rending/export as 64 gb can improve a little bit but not by much and i dont need 64 but 32 yes. And my 3 builds all use a 980 ti Gigabyte, the only different factors were the CPU and Boards. The case fans would be nice to have as backup or replace if the ones that came with the case were bad. Your build is still good, i will just have to adjust it a little to fit the plan :D

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/cJ4ggs

maybe that still adjusting minor stuff

Also keep in mind that i have a http://www.microcenter.com/ Near me and some things i may edit in price are because they are cheaper there :o but are generally not super different but CPU's there are damn cheap :D

You'd want 32gbs if you're like a professional and are doing a ton of layers of effects and the like, but RAM is an easy upgrade

There's other reasons to go AMD, not the least of which is that particular 4k free-sync display, plus with DX12 AMD has been showing pretty sizable gains overall on the non fury cards, so the 2 390s should pull even farther when that's in more games, like the upcoming deus ex

well i want to avoid doing dual cards if incan get a single one that performs nearly as well if not the same, and quite a few benchmarks put the 980 ti in with dual 390x.

From what i was reading doing 4k at 60 hz is less optimal than 144 hz 2k. Is there anyone who does a ton of gaming in similar games that could weigh in on that if there is a major difference that would dramtically impact the gaming :o

Anyone have a Zotac 980TI and a Gigabye 980TI Or have one of them that they could share what they have gotten theirs to OC too :o I see an average of 1490-1510 for giga and 1495-1540 for Zotac but could just be some lucky OC cards for the higher ones
