I use Lumia 920 and I like Windows Phone way better than Android. It comes to personal preference though. If you like Google ecosystem then I would suggest you not to go for Windows Phone as Google is trying their best to make any Google apps run as shit on Windows Phone on purpose.

3rd party apps adress this but you wont get any official Google apps.

If you don't mind the lack of apps from the Windows Store, then yeah.

I like my Lumia and I'm never going back to Android.

No they are not. Every single one that is out now is VERY outdated.

Microsoft just announced new ones, those will probably be fine.

As far as software goes they are very smooth and responsive, and work nicely, but the downside is app support is terrible, most apps on iOS/Android are just plain not there on Windows phone

Get an android phone, you can't get any better than android, simple.
Is it the theme you like on a windows phone? if so then you can make android look like that. I had a 520 about 2 years ago and it was a shit head...frankly.

They are good, but extremely limited app support compared to Android or iOS.

They are pretty good in terms of quality. My Lumia 735 feels rock solid, has a nice camera and OLED display, even though it's considered a budget device.

In terms of OS, I like WP - it's simple, runs great and is easy to use, even though there are less apps and it probably isn't a great OS for people who play games and use some of the social services. Lumia phones are pretty good if you are looking for a budget device as most Android budget phones are shite.

Depends on what you need it for, I really like Lumia's from a business perspective, I think they are some of the nicest looking phones out there and if all you want is a modern phone for calls, txt, email, photos, videos, etc. they are fantastic and have a really nice smooth UI however if you want a mini computer Android will be more flexible.

Personally I don't want to use my phone as a computer, a phone sized or even fablet sized device doesn't cut it regardless of how much power or compatibility with applications it has, I have a laptop and desktop for my computing needs, about the only thing I miss on my Lumia is Wifi Analyser.

The quality of my Nokia Lumia 925 is surprisingly good. The OS - while being quite responsive with only very rare lags (and even then they are almost not worth being mentionend) - on the other hand is very spartanic and way behind iOS and Android. For example: you can't choose standard apps for opening stuff. Android asks you with which app you want to open, let's say - a simple link to a webpage. WP can't do that. If you want to use anything other than Bing for searching stuff you have to do it via IE (the search button only opens Bing).

Talking about the search: the Windows Store search is a mess. More often than not the search results will spit out 5-10 apps that are related to the topic but then it gets ridiculous (could depend on the region of your Windows Store). It kinda reminds me of the early days of Android (1.5) where most of the apps were either in another language or just useless shit.

The file explorer is also very limited in terms of file recognition (files that can't be handled/opened by any app disappear into the infamous "other" storage - which of course is not accessable), not as convenient as it could be.

The quality and number of decent apps is pretty low.

If you just want to do simple stuff (checking emails, using a bunch of social media apps and - of course - using it as a phone, it gets the job done. If you want more freedom (MURRICA! WOOHH!) and just do things the way YOU want -> get an Android phone.

I, personally, will be waiting if Windows 10 for Mobile improves the situation. If not, then I'll switch back to Android and try to forget that I ever used WP.

Which phones are you referning to?  They are just as up to date as any other phone in their category.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Assuming you are talking about the new ones or older ones for there time they go like this.   Windows OS-Good     Physical Phone-Great    Support/App Support- Good luck trying.

The design and quality of the phones are good. They have been show to be durable and smooth.

The general benefits Lumias has been that they are durable, have one of the best smart phone camera's in each price point (amazing at the high end and good quality at the mid and decent at low compared to the competition), and have a unique style.

The ones that are out right now are a bit older as in almost 2 years old. Windows mobile OS runs smooth though on older hardware.

Microsoft just announced the Lumia 950(5.2 in. Screen) and 950 xl (5.7 in. screen) that have updated hardware. They will be very fast, updated hardware and software, amazing cameras, and have new features such as Windows Hello (unlocks your phone by using an iris scanner, basically just look into the phone and it unlocks), Continuum (allows you to connect your phone to a monitor plus a keyboard and mouse then the phone will act like a PC on the monitor but your phone will still work as a phone), interactive notifications and others.

Everyone is correct about there being less apps in the windows mobile store. You have to download a 3rd party app for Youtube even BUT there are some great Youtube apps such as Mytube, Tubecast for Youtube, and Metrotube. So, you wont find certain specific apps and will have to find either alternatives, 3rd party apps (6tag for instagram and 6sec for Vine, really any app developed by Rudy Huyn), or they are just none existent. Most apps you will find but many specific apps are not there.
