Microsoft Surface Book announced at Microsoft 2015 Hardware Event - NVIDIA GPU, Lastest Intel Chips

Microsoft announced a Surface LAPTOP today!  With an NVIDIA GPU. 

 

Current Known Specs:

 

13" Pixel Sense Screen (276ppi)

Latest Intel Processor

NVIDIA GPU

 

1.6mm of Travel on Keyboard Keys

Glass Trackpad with 5 points of touch.

 

Releases Oct 26th starting at $1499 USD

Out of current gpu's and that form factor probably a 950M or something similar.

Well at least MS finally made up their mind about whether they want a tablet or laptop, and they made the right choice.  :)

Ok, I don't really mind much, as far as a convertible the Surface isn't terrible, still think it s better to have a laptop for a laptop and a tablet for a tablet though.

Its not a surface pro 4, it is bigger. but mostly the same, may not have a stand alone kick stand.

I couldn't help but cringe during the live release. I really found it difficult to watch through it. He said at one point literally word for word "it's the fastest laptop". Now the Surface Pro 4 looks really nice but I just don't see the appeal of the Surface Book.

I'm curious as to what GPU theyre throwing into the machine. I hate when they never specify what GPU is in the system.

I think he meant ultrabook, but laptop slip out. It's not the first time that Microsoft screws up with the wording.

Yes because only Apple uses the book moniker for laptops... they can't name it pro because they already have a pro, and unlike the pro 4 this is a laptop that can work as a tablet and not a tablet that can work as a laptop, i think book is the best word they can uses to say this is a laptop and not a tablet like the other surfaces.
