looks sketchy

go with a more. normal brand.. like evga (b2)

Sentey actually has some decent PSUs. Not this one though.

@OP Something like a SeaSonic S12G-450 would be much better. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151139&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Please get one from a reputable PSU brand, such as EVGA. You do NOT want to go cheap on your PSU, it can kill your entire system.

Sentey aren't a bad brand for PSUs, they have some that are decent/good. EVGA, like Sentey, doesn't make any PSUs, so you can't really recommend them as a brand due to the varying quality of the units they brand.

Cheap crap right there. As the others said go with EVGA.

Can we stop blindly recommending EVGA? He could go for EVGA's 500W PSU, which is complete crap. They don't make PSUs, they brand them, with various quality of units. Be specific with the models (B2, GS, G2, PS, P2 and T2) The others are either meh or bad.

OEMs like SeaSonic, Delta and SuperFlower can be recommended, as they don't really make bad PSUs. Brands like XFX can be recommended because they use SeaSonic units exclusively.

Whoops, should've mentioned the B2, or GS series, forgot. Those would be good for his budget it seems. And they aren't complete crap, I probably got lucky but my 400W EVGA model is still somehow powering my 290 (and on full load too).

Agreed, EVGA do have some some stinkers in their lineup. Within Europe I'd generally add BeQuiet to the list of go-to OEM brands. Even their budget options outclass many of the cheap re-brands from the likes of EVGA and Corsair.

bequiet! has good PSUs for the most part, but some of their units are cheap HEC OEM and not the best. Mainly the Pure Power series. The rest are good pretty FSP and SeaSonic units, but I wouldn't recommend bequiet! as a brand as they do have some sub-par units in there.

I haven't seen any bad reviews of the L8 range, they're just not always categorically first-choice at certain price points (i.e. once you get into the 700W+ units). But, for lower power systems (300-500W) they generally compete with similarly priced Seasonic units such as the S12II (from what I've read at least).
