In need of a new phone, switching from iPhone 5s

Commandhat

Hello,

I've been looking to buy a new phone as I'm tired of using my 5s. I wanted to ask you guys whether I should switch to a 6/6S or get the One Plus Two?

It looks really nice, performs better and is cheaper. But the invite system is balls basically.

I plan to use this phone atleast for a few years. is the one plus two capable of that or do I have to basically buy a new phone every year? Will OnePlus support their phones for a while? I mean apple still supports the 4s which came out 2011

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You can easily get an invite if you're looking for one. Lots of forums etc have code invites you just have to be quick. If you like iOS then get the 6S but if you want to try something new grab the One Plus.

The OnePlus 2 isn't the best phone for its price, it's missing a lot of features (such as NFC and expandable storage.)

I don't really have any recommends though, since I haven't bought a new phone since 2012.

Do you want Android or iOS?

Obviously he wants Android.

I used to be quite active here.

Just bought a Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. If you can wait though the Nexus 6P looks awesome. OnePlus Two is sketchy and OnePlus isn't a tried and true vendor. The iPhone 6s and Galaxy S6 are basically equivalent, it's all preference.

Don't buy Oneplus Two, it's not that good.

Buy Nexus 6P if you want to try android. It really looks superb.

If you're deciding between the 6S and OnePlus Two, I'll tell you right now, 6S hands down. The 6S is currently the top performer in most, if not every aspect (I'm personally waiting on more camera reviews and comparisons, but from my own play I do think the camera is a lot better than even my LG G4), the OnePlus Two is just a budget option, granted an outdated one already with the Moto X Style and Nexus 5X.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

No. He obviously is unsure of what he wants....hence the question.

Objectively, the 6s is the best phone. It still comes down to OS preference however.

Ok lol. I have been an iPhone user since the 4 came out, And I've never really tried an android which is why I was thinking of getting a OP2. It has a decent camera and it was cheap so i thought i'd get it. Looking for something with a great camera and OS and over all has to last a while (3 - 4 years at the most), among other great features such as Touch ID and ability to share any file (which i heard was possible with android via bluetooth)

At this point was just looking to get a new phone that would last a while and still be pretty fast. My 5S is 16GB gold, I pretty much already ran out of space like 2 months after buying it (got it in Jan 2014, it was a gift). I wasn't looking for anything expensive, but I don't exactly mind spending a couple bucks extra.

I also heard that some companies stop supporting their android phones after 2 years. I need a phone that would last me a while and is still pretty good.

A lot of my friends suggested not to get the S6, why is that?

I thought 'trade' my 5S for $275 ish.

This ^^

LG G4 is probably the best Android smartphone for 2015 IMO.

+ Beast Camera

+ Expandable Storage

+ Removable Battery (Can grab ZeroLemon 8,500 mAh battery case for $50/$60 bucks)

+ Snapdragon 808

+ Great screen

+ Really good standby time (Full charge and let it sleep for 15 hours and bam! It is still 100% Of course, I was using ZeroLemon 8,500 mAh battery case)

+ Optional Qi Wireless, but you can manually add it

+ Has NFC Support but once you use battery case. You will both NFC and Qi Wireless.

+ Lastly, the price. It is around $420 dollar. :P

The only two downside is probably LG Software and you can't access the damn notification from lockscreen.

Thanks guys but I'm currently leaning towards the S6. Any reasons not to buy it besides non expandable storage and non removable battery?

Hmm, beside the non expandable storage and non removable battery that is pretty much it.

Maybe the standby battery life, but I am not sure how good is the S6 standby battery life.

I know that my LG G4 is amazing when it comes to standby battery life, lol. It is pretty much like iPhone or iPad where you just full charge it and leave it alone and still have that full charge.

S6 has 2550 mAh battery life. I feel like you won't even last a day without charging it unless you want to go through a hassle of bringing a charger or portable battery.

Have an s6 and the battery sucks, I do like the 6s

Ah, then that prove my point, lol.

It isn't a bad smartphone just the shitty battery life that is holding it back.

If it has 3000 mAh then maybe but 2550 mAh, well ...

The iPhone 6S is probably the best phone on the market today, but it costs an arm and a leg.

The 1+2 is great for the price and you'll soon be able to buy one without invite: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/447806-updated-oneplus-2-to-be-available-without-invite-oct-12th/

i was surviving with a 1570 mAh battery with my 5S, barely, I think the S6 would be good enough xD
