Damn, you Canadians get ripped off. Here in the US we get the Fury X and 980 Ti for $100 cheaper at MSRP.

2 things you forgot to convert. you get it for $6 cheaper.

-snip-

nah, we do get ripped off - the prices may match when adjusting for currency, but those facts should make our dollar more than the US, not less, so really we're paying over $100 more than we should :)

it almost matches a 980tis performance for $100 less and with DX12 it may ANNIHILATE nvidia gpus

well, now we're getting into arguments about what causes shootings: availability of guns, or other factors like cultural norms, etc.

Let's get this back to graphics cards shall we?

AMD > nvidia price/perf?

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Meh. It's an okay "Deal". I just spent 750$ CAD, with tax and shipping on a 980.

Yeah, one person's idea about this* sounded particularly convincing

* (there was a benchmark showing AMD getting a massive boost from DX12 and nvidia basically being unchanged)

It was that AMD, because of their work with Mantle, has been effectively getting ready for DX12 for years now, while nvidia has been perfecting their DX11 drivers, and so their "DX12" driver is really just mapping the draw calls to dx11 and thus no performance benefit.

Point being that in time, we should see nvidia card get that same boost

Nah, guns are awesome. You would understand if you lived in the best state in the US!

Is Texas really even a state? Even if it is, Oregon is better.

Nvidia GPUs (at least current gen ones) don't have async compute. A huge part of the perf gains of DX12
