Amazing Side Panel Corsair Case Mod!

mrjordann

First of all, my case is the Corsair Carbide 300R, without a windowed side panel. Just so you know.

So I've always wanted a side panel on my case. I've had this build for about 6 months now, and it's beautiful. Green LEDs, green LED graphics card, green CPU cooler liquid... it's beautiful. I find myself without the side panel on because you can't see its beauty with the side panel. Now I could go and get a side-paneled version, but it has a really ugly spot for dual fans, and I don't want that. Also I really want it hinged... ;) So I started out on a mission to get at least a nice custom side panel for it. Too many mods, not enough mods for sale. And I really want the 760T, but I don't want a full tower. And frankly, I can't afford that right now. I found a "parts and accessories" section on Corsair's website, and I found the side panel and hinges to go with the case :P. So I think I am going to screw in the hinges to my current case, and custom cut the plexiglass side panel to fit my Mid-Tower. Seem like a bad idea? Maybe, but it's worth a try to me.

(EDIT: I heard HardwareCanucks call it acrylic even though I heard plexiglass, also a Corsair employee said the glass-type material was polycarbonate. So that's what I'm gonna stick with.)

Any advice, suggestions or comments please tell me. I'd love some help :)

And let me know if you want me to make a little mod/build log for this!

Thanks and here's an LTT video on the 760T.

Unless you want to risk having your motherboard box as your computer case I would not try

I mean like I could care less if my pc parts were on top of a box

Until it breaks

Have a look at this video.

Tempered glass might be a bit too expensive, but frosted, or smoked acrylic should be a good replacement.

worst case scenario, I would have to put the old side panel back on
