Laptop/ pc for trading

oskar23

Hi there,

Is CPU the most important part when it comes to day trading on platforms like thinkorswim or trading station? Somebody recommended in microcenter to my mother 2 core i7 5500u cpu and this shit lags us f*ck when market opens. Which processor is the best for trading?  More cores = better?

Even an eight year old Core 2 Duo shouldn't struggle with that.

Make sure you have decent internet and make sure you're not running out of ram (open task manager and see what your memory usage is).

I'd imagine network/internet connection would be FAR more important than PC power for something like that, I'd imagine RAM could be the most bottle-necking especially if it leaks, and hasn't been flushed for a while (I'd imagine you don't shut down the laptop all that often)

Aftermarket 980Ti >= Fury X >= Reference 980Ti > Fury > 980 > 390X > 390 >= 970 380X > 380 >= 960 > 950 >= 370 > 750Ti = 360

I like Computer Stuffs. Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it in again? Automation Expert (Bots, scripts, etc)! Add me on Xbox Live: JollyPlanet449 And on Steam!: Baxtmann Wanshow.tips is a cool place too

Well guys... When I noticed lags I opened task manager and cpu usage was 100%. Laptop has 8gb of ram and internet connection is ok. When I open more than 10 charts and all start to move cpu doesnt have enough power to handle it. Thats what i think.

Maybe something else eating up RAM/CPU?
