What games?

Rendering/editing is CPU intensive, not GPU.

Primary: Lenovo T61 / Intel Core2Duo T7200 @ 2.2GHz / 3GB DDR2 / NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M / Fedora 22 <<<< THE WHITE KNIGHT

Secondary: Compaq Presario CQ56 / AMD V130 @ 2.3GHz / 2GB DDR3 / AMD Radeon HD 4250 / Windows 8.1 <<< THE FORGOTTEN HERO

At this price, since you need an OS, I'd say get Debian from: http://debian.org

You also forgot a HDD.

Good CPU choice for editing.

Where is the HDD or SSD?

I chose the cpu for the editing part (fx 6300) since it has 6 cores which is handy for rendering also the games at the moment not much but he is starting to look for some newer triple a titles example gta 5

Oké the cpu I can see why but how much of a in game benefit would you see since at the moment he isn't playing any intensive and has like a celeron 2830 which takes 6 hours and would it matter VS better render times than the more fps in game?

Also I would also have chose the r9 260x but in my country it not for sale anymore :/ else I also would have chose it but they are on par with each other.

Also he really liked that case (sharkoon-vg4-w) also the psi I can see but where you cut some money on cpu I cut money on psu a it tho on good sites it gets a good grade so yeah.

what was your previous PC? Phenom II?

Yes, it can probably run FX, but it has an older chipset, which means you may run into issues. Not to mention if you do not have the correct bios, the FX may not even work.

That being said.

It also features SATA2.0 (3GB/s) which really aint that great... that means you cannot get even a top of the line SSD to run that much faster then a 10.000 RPM HDD...

the board i linked has 6x Sata 3.0 (6GB/s) ports, also features proper UEFI bios, faster Hyper-Transport,  a few more USB ports and whatnot. Generally a decent upgrade.

Neither of these boards will do a very good job at OCing. But i have seen a YT vid of someone getting a stable 4.4GHz with a FX and that board. So you should be able to reach those levels too, althought i would advice staying below 4.4GHz as that is pushing the mobos VRMs a bit too much. 4,2GHz should be perfectly fine though.

Mhh that's a pretty valid point I didn't even know about the sata 2.0 lol the chipset alright I know about the support and what not so I'll swap it out since it would be a shame I'f I'd have to update the bios with my old phenom I I which btw was correct :P

just use that CPU. Even at stock, it is close to the FX6300... instead of a FX, get a even better mobo, like a Gigabyte UD3P (specifically the UD3P) and OC the Phenom HARD AS HELL
