Can The I5-4460 Handle Modern Gaming?

Go to solution Solved by DarkBlade2117,

i5-4460 os perfect for gaming, enough for the next 3-4 years.

So at first i was going to get a i7 @ 4.0hz (because i dont plan to overclock at all) but then i realized after adding a monitor i was over my limit, so i went back and added a i5-4460.

My question is, as the title says, can the i5-4460 handle modern gaming?  Now, when i say modern gaming, i mean 60fps+ on 1080p ultra settings, i know that stuff is mainly GPU but the CPU still needs to be accounted for considering one or more of the games i plan to play is cpu intensive (arma 3).  This will also mean games that are not out yet, example, fallout 4.  Is this cpu going to be any good for at least awhile?  (sadly i dont plan on upgrading for 3 years).

Any help and/ or advise would be appreciated.

PC list if it helps

Yeah man. For sure on most games.

Not sure about Arma, because it's just a weird game/engine..

Another option for you would be the xeon 1231v3 which should also be cheap enough (since you can also buy a cheap mobo) compared to the i7 4770/4790. If it doesn't fit you are still fine, but if it fits I would highly recommend it.
