How much would u have to oc a 980ti to get Titan x fps ?

also the fact that in the vid they use a reference card makes it quite easy for your oc to make it to the titan x level

Not a whole lot, the 980 Ti already performs pretty much on par with a Titan X.

They already perform almost the same out of the box in games.

Most reviews of 980 Tis I've seen have the 980 ti doing better out of the box... I guess thanks to aftermarket coolers and custom power limits it boosts a lot higher

Neither. 970 SLI if you have a decent intel quad

Stronger single card is always better than two weaker cards and a good OC 980Ti is same as 970 Sli anyways

Also it's SLI so it can be problematic

Most of the time the the ref titan x and ref 980 ti have a difference of 0.5-0.9

The non ref 980ti that are OC'd nicely like the g1 980 ti wreck the titan x

Depends. On newer games SLI is flawless, on older games it could be an issue.

It's marginally faster and the issues that come with SLI are not worth it. Not to mention that you will only have 3.5GB of VRAM.

The real limitation of the Titan X is the reference cooler. A good aftermarket cooler on a 980 Ti that allows it to boost and OC nicely handily beats the Titan X 9 times out of 10. So unless you want to spend an extra $300 on double the VRAM and a pretty okay looking cooler, I suggest getting a nice 980 Ti.
