UOLTT Meetup recording

Hey Guys,

I know we had a little chat about it last night about us recording and trying to get some uploads from different perspectives.

I was wondering if we had got any further than just the idea, I have started recording our games and I think a couple of us also have recordings so I was just gonna see if we were going to try and get anything sorted so we could get some cool vids out there :)

Spoon and Napper usually record and stream AFAIK and the recordings are posted on the YT channel.

Different perspectives would be cool, yes.

New to Star Citizen? Look no further!

To keep it simple I'd say that you upload your videos to a cloud service of your choice and the send the links via PN to me. I'll sort it out and reply to you when you can delete the files.

Make sure to name the files YYMMDD - Username.

As for future recordings: 720p and 1080p should be 16MBit/s and 4K should be 40MBit/s. If all sources are 1080 I'll probably just upscale it to 4k and annoy both YouTube and my ISP.

Shadowplay doesn't let you choose specific bitrates, I can either do 10Mb/s or 20Mb/s. Should I do 20 and then get it down to 16 with Handbrake?

In the shadowplay options go to Quality -> Custom :)

NVM I see what you mean, I don't think going higher will hurt though ;)

You could also record 720p in 40MBit/s I don't care, you're the tho who had to upload it. As Linus stated in his video, the whole point of uploading up sampled 4k to YouTube is to get it to stream at a higher bitrate than it would allow with 1080p.

I can record as well, but mind you that it will be in 21:9 and not hitting 60fps the whole time. more like around 45. (Thanks Star Citizen :P)

And I'd have to find a good free or cheap recorder.

Yeah, 30fps would be fine for the current moment, if we can all find a cloud based site that allows it, I'm happy if @Napper198 does that, his editing skills are better than mine, if he's up for it.

BUT we do need to discuss when we start and finish recording.
